Senior Fitness can best be described as a fun and relaxing group exercise therapy for those over the age of 65. Our trainings focus on engaging your joints, muscles and nerves, while also working on breathing techniques found in yoga and meditation to strengthen inhalation and prolonging exhalation to improve overall fitness.

We start with a warmup of walking and stimulating the joints of the lower and upper body. We continue by separately stretching the leg and back muscles and then move on to mobilisation exercises for the head, hip and back. We then perform light chest and abdominal exercises to train the core in conjunction with breathing techniques.

The training continues with alternating exercises, including a circuit to strengthen certain muscle groups, running to stimulate the cardiovascular system, dancing and moving to music to promote coordination, and games to improve reflexes. None of the exercises or activities are competitive and everyone works out according to their own ability and at their own pace. We finish each training with relaxation techniques on the mat.
